Dots Bay House
Hiriketiya Bay · On the beach
A Hiriketiya favourite right by the bay, with a jungle pool, a café and bar, a surf shop and a coworking space.
Updated 2026
Hiriketiya is tiny: one horseshoe bay, a road that loops around it and a green hill behind. That makes choosing where to stay easy once you know the three areas.
The bay is where everything happens: surf, cafés, sunset. Stay here if you surf or want to walk everywhere. The hill is 5 to 15 minutes on foot, quieter, greener and home to most of the villas. Dikwella is the next beach west, long, calm sand and bigger properties, a short tuk tuk from the bay.
Best if you want everything within walking distance: surf, cafés, sunset and nights out.
Beach access and a different, calmer atmosphere, a few minutes from the bay.
More local and often cheaper, on the long beach next door.
Quieter, at the western end of Dikwella beach.
More space and more villas. A scooter or tuk tuk makes life much easier.

Hiriketiya is smaller and more social; Dikwella beach is longer, calmer and has bigger beachfront properties. They are only about 5 minutes apart by tuk tuk, so you can easily have both.
Most people wish they had stayed longer. Three to four nights is a good minimum; surfers and remote workers often stay weeks or months.
